• The Digital Art Shop process - part 1

    Part 1: Pre-launch thoughts

Second attempt (or third?) but now more excited than ever! I’ve wanted to start a small digital art shop for years, but I have only dipping my toes into it a little bit until now because I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I felt torn between making music, writing, and doing digital art… Now I see that I want to open a digital art shop regardless of my other creative outlets. It doesn’t need to be an either-or situation.

At the same time, I have C-PTSD and am burned out. So I take things very slowly, and although I am soooo excited and really WANT to move FAST, I have to remind myself to take it easy and slow down and do it in a healthy and safe way.

I know for marketing, you have to move fast. But my digital art shop is for those who understand neurodivergent brains and mental illness, and people who support a more neurodivergent- and disability-friendly approach to digital product making. If it’s important to someone that I add new designs frequently, then they clearly aren’t my target audience anyway!

Not to say all people who are in my audience need to be neurodivergent or disabled. But of course, my stuff is primarily for people who understand that experience, whether they are in the situation themselves, close to someone with disabilities, or just like my designs and want to support someone with a disability who does it their own way.

This is going to be a series on this site. My thoughts alongside opening my art shop, and even reflections afterwards. It will be alongside the development of the shop, and I will also share behind-the-scenes once it’s fully opened.

Above are some behind-the-scenes of some of my digital products.

Looking forward to reflect on this process more!
