Being a so-called “Renaissance Soul”

What is a “Renaissance Soul”?

“It is conventional wisdom that there is one true path in life for each of us. But what about those with a wide array of interests, a dynamic curiosity about the world, and an ever-renewing wellspring of passions? Margaret Lobenstine calls these people “Renaissance Souls.”

A description from Wendy.blog

I heard this term on the 27th of December 2023 for the first time on YouTube by the creator Tina Huang, in this video.

I feel like I really resonate with this term since I’ve always seen myself as someone that is good at many things, although not an expert maybe, but I hover around between multiple interests and sometimes feel like a quitter. The fact of the matter is that I’m above average on many things, decent at a few, and good at others. And then I find something new to hyperfocus on. The things I’m really bad at I stay away from, but I found myself having more things I enjoy and feel passionate about than things I don’t enjoy or feel passionate about. These people are called Renaissance Souls.

The real problem with being this type of person is when you are prompted to find your “niche” online and on YouTube for example. Or even for this website! I feel like I’m really passionate about personal growth but when it comes to how that i shown in art form, it can be everything from coding a wellness app to creating a digital workbook or an activity book for adults. I have always so many ideas and sometimes I hear people say I have too many things to focus on. Honestly… I kinda like that. Maybe it makes me less successful since the conventional way is to have a niche, but at the end of the day, this is who I am.

That’s why I have a little bit of everything on this website.
